சுயசரிதை
Matthew J. Pellowski is an American director, writer, producer, editor, and showrunner specializing in film and television. He began his career in the late 1990s and early 2000s as a writer and illustrator for various publishing companies and magazines. At 18, he secured his first illustrator role with Bantam Doubleday Dell Publishing, soon followed by writing assignments for Mad Magazine, UFO Magazine, and the UK-based Paranormal News.
After earning a BA in screenwriting from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, Pellowski transitioned from publishing to TV and film production. He started as an intern on Late Night with Conan O’Brien (NBC) and subsequently worked in post-production on a range of shows and networks, including Sportsdesk (NBC), Liza & David (Vh1), Lost (NBC), Sidelines (ESPN), John Leguizamo's Sexaholic (HBO), and Inside Edition (CBS).
Early in his career, he held diverse roles such as storyboard artist for Spike Lee's Drop Squad Productions and Head of Incoming War Footage for CBS during the second Iraq conflict. After contributing to the first two seasons of NBC's The Apprentice with Mark Burnett, Pellowski co-founded his own production company. In its inaugural year, he produced and managed post-production on two feature films: the scripted narrative All Screwed Up for Indican Pictures and the documentary Eyes of the Mothman for Destination America.
He followed these with two additional scripted features: the independent thriller Rachael Marks for Vanguard Cinema and The Snitch Cartel, Colombia’s submission for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards. Pellowski also produced and directed Fetish, an indie scripted film for iTunes starring Joan Collins, who earned a Best Actress award at the NYC International Film Festival.
Expanding beyond feature films, Pellowski moved into producing and directing commercials for leading agencies and brands. His work, aired domestically and internationally, included campaigns for Sony, Harrah’s, Vonage, Paramount Pictures, ESPN, K&L, BBDO, Allstate, ALoft, and Seinfeld. These projects often involved large-scale productions with crews exceeding 60 members and creative challenges such as reconstructing the original Seinfeld sets from scratch.
In 2011, Matthew returned to television, developing projects for various external production companies and major networks. After assisting in launching the food series Chow Masters for Travel Channel, his company became a preferred resource for network development overflow. Collaborating with companies like RockShrimp, The Jarrett Creative, Cineflix, Leopard, Nutopia, Wheelhouse, Stickfigure, Meryl Poster's Superb Entertainment, Endemol, and Truly Original, he has produced, directed, and edited over 75 sizzles, proof of concepts, and pilots. Several of these projects were greenlit into series, including Wingmen (OWN), Boss Nails (Oxygen), and Sneaker Pawn (Facebook Watch).
Building on his success in development through partnerships with external studios, Pellowski established an original programming division at his own company. Projects have included a 52-episode romantic comedy series for FYI, a travel series inspired by Dirty Jobs that was licensed worldwide, and a Super Bowl special for Nickelodeon. Across these projects, he has served as Director, Producer, or Showrunner.
Adapting to the evolving multimedia landscape and growth of digital networks, Matthew has also produced content for online platforms. Collaborating with Netflix, Amazon, Facebook, Hearst Digital, Major League Baseball, Travel Channel, FYI, UNICEF, and others, he has directed and produced extensive hours of scripted and unscripted online programming.
