Ava is one of the most adaptable actresses of her generation. She leads the 2023 teen horror film Abigail in the title role. She also plays the supernatural antagonist teen Diana in Warner Bros./New Line Cinema's horror film Lights Out (2016). Ava stars in the indie sci-fi feature One Under the Sun (2017), recommended by Stan Lee, for which she won best actress in a feature film. She is widely recognized for her recurring role on Nickelodeon's comedy The Haunted Hathaways (2013) and has a recurring role on the popular series Young Sheldon, collaborating with some of the industry's most talented comedic actors and actresses.
Since 2008, Ava has been actively working in Hollywood, appearing in commercials, music videos, films, television shows, and pilots. She is an award-winning actress, having earned best actress awards for her performances, including for her recent film 22 (2022). Beginning her career at age eight, she booked roles in commercials, short films, features, web series, and television, frequently guest-starring on Nickelodeon's Haunted Hathaways from 2013 to 2015.
In 2015, Ava co-starred in the NBC pilot Not Safe for Work (2014), working alongside Fred Willard and Cheri Oteri. That same year, she starred as Brooklyn in the web series Cam Girls, produced by David Slack. Ava and the talented cast of Cam Girls received numerous awards for their performances.
In 2014, Ava appeared in the horror short film The Passing, the horror feature Exit 13, and Above the 101. She was nominated for a Young Artist Award for her role in Above the 101 and won best actress for her work on Nickelodeon's Haunted Hathaways.
Ava is actively engaged with various charitable organizations, including the LA Mission and animal rescue centers. She enjoys surfing the beaches of San Diego, teaching and competing in Muay Thai, as well as practicing other martial arts.
