Cal Aurand is an entertainment executive, filmmaker, prolific storyteller, and visionary creative leader with over 25 years of experience crafting meaningful and compelling content for some of the world's most renowned names. Renowned in the entertainment industry for expertly bringing innovative ideas to life—from writing and directing to producing, filming, and delivering creative content that surpasses objectives—Aurand aims to educate and touch audiences’ hearts through media. He is also celebrated as an empathetic leader, master collaborator, and authentic source of positivity.
At the core of every project lies a story to reveal. Aurand has directed, filmed, and produced scripted features, music videos, sports documentaries, tour documentaries, and live broadcast shows for major artists such as Beyoncé, One Direction, Jennifer Lopez, John Mayer, Tony Bennett, and Harry Styles; sports icons including Aaron Rodgers; and entertainment giants like Apple Music, Google, Nickelodeon, Sony Music, TBS Network, and FX Networks.
In 2021, Aurand founded The Mustard, a fully transparent technology and media company leveraging Blockchain to document its every action. The Mustard focuses on the Metaverse, creating aspirational, authentic, and purpose-driven gaming, media, and VR experiences.
Aurand is also the founder and lead creative of Upper Falls, Inc., a creative agency and production company specializing in documentaries, digital content, music videos, and live productions. Before establishing Upper Falls, Inc., he spent nearly a decade at Sony Music in various executive and creative roles, producing live music videos, EPKs, artist interviews, and documentaries, while overseeing visual imaging, direction, and marketing for prominent label artists.
Beyond creating dynamic video content and expansive online worlds, Aurand is a devoted family man and mentor. He serves on the board of Counseling4Kids, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing healing and advocacy for at-risk children and families, enhancing quality of life for all.
