Teresa Salgueiro is unquestionably a unique artist who, for over three decades, has embodied an iconic image of Portugal worldwide. Her musical journey began in 1986, when at 17, she was invited to help found the Portuguese group Madredeus, later recording nine albums of original music crafted especially for her voice. From 1987 to 2007, she spent twenty years touring, with more than five million records sold globally. The band became the first international representatives of Portuguese music since Amália Rodrigues. Teresa Salgueiro, with her subtle and delicate presence and extraordinary voice, was at the forefront of this musical journey. Renowned artists such as José Carreras, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Carlos Núñez, Angelo Branduardi, Zbigniew Preisner, and Wim Wenders (with whom she acted in the film "Lisbon Story") have recognized Teresa as one of the greatest contemporary singers. She then began exploring new directions, collaborating with artists from diverse countries on various recordings and concerts. In 2011, she retreated to the Convent of Arrábida to record her first solo album, where she not only produced but also wrote all the music and lyrics. With *O Mistério*, she continued her global journey, performing on major stages to audiences eager and passionate to experience the voice they have cherished for so many years. This journey culminated in original arrangements of Mexican and South American songs, resulting in an exclusive album for Mexico—*La Golondrina y El Horizonte*—which premiered at the acclaimed Festival Cervantino. *O Horizonte*, her latest album, showcases her talents as a songwriter and lyricist through an original repertoire she both created and performed. On her new tour, Teresa Salgueiro returns to the world’s most prestigious stages with a show celebrating her versatility, featuring her own songs, original arrangements of Portuguese classics, and a heartfelt tribute to her former group.
