María Soledad Mesa Pachón, known professionally as María Kosty, is a Spanish actress raised in Madrid. She began her career in television with the Spanish music variety show 'Escala en hi-fi' on TVE in 1966, directed by Fernando García de la Vega. Soon after, she transitioned to theater by joining Milagros Leal's theatrical company, gaining essential stage experience that influenced her later screen roles. Kosty made her film debut in 1967 with 'El paseíllo,' directed by Ana Mariscal, entering Spanish cinema during a time of notable cultural and artistic change. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, she became closely linked to the horror genre, which was gaining popularity in Spain.
