Elaine Bromka has been acting for over thirty years. Film credits include Cindy, the mom in Uncle Buck; In the Family; and Without a Trace. Television appearances include Blacklist, Maniac, Girls, The Sopranos, Sex & the City, E.R., Providence, Dharma & Greg, Sisters, all Law & Order series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent. She portrayed Stella Lombard on Days of Our Lives and appeared in the Emmy-winning Playing for Time alongside Vanessa Redgrave. She also earned an Emmy for Catch a Rainbow. On Broadway, she has appeared in The Rose Tattoo, I'm Not Rappaport, and Macbeth. Off-Broadway credits include Cloud 9 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, Roundabout's Inadmissible Evidence with Nicol Williamson, the world premiere of Michael Weller's Split at E.S.T., and Candide with the National Theatre of the Deaf. She has starred in lead roles at regional theaters nationwide, such as Long Wharf, Hartford Stage, Center Stage, Actors Theatre of Louisville, ACT/Seattle, O'Neill Playwrights Conference, Shakespeare and Company, McCarter Theatre, Pittsburgh Public Theater, George Street Playhouse, and Folger Theatre Group. Her roles range from Beatrice in Much Ado to Shirley Valentine, the latter recognized as the outstanding solo performance in New Jersey in 1997 by the Star-Ledger. After starring opposite Rich Little in The Presidents for PBS, where she portrayed eight First Ladies, she co-wrote with Eric H. Weinberger the solo show Tea for Three: Lady Bird, Pat & Betty, which she has toured nationwide following its successful Off-Broadway run. A member of the Actors Studio and Ensemble Studio Theatre, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Smith College, she has taught at Smith College and NYU's Steinhardt School, as well as conducted one-day acting workshops at over 150 colleges and prep schools across the country.
