Fabian Claes Jansen, also known as Fabian Jansen, is an actor, director, and impact producer born and raised in the Netherlands in 1983. He graduated in 2005 from the 4-year BA Acting Course at Toneelacademie Maastricht (The Institute of Performing Arts of Maastricht, Netherlands). In 2019, he expanded his expertise by becoming an Impact Producer for film and theater.
Fabian has performed in over 40 plays on stages across Broadway (NYC/USA), the UK, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Belgium, and the Netherlands. He has also written and directed acclaimed plays for both young audiences and adults. Beyond theater, Fabian has held leading roles in feature films, TV movies, and TV series, collaborating with award-winning directors such as Saskia Diesing, Mijke de Jong, and Mark de Cloe.
In 2018, he founded Fabuch Social Cinema, formerly Cinema Fabuch, the first inclusive film company in the Netherlands. This company produces high-quality shorts, feature films, video performances, and multimedia projects addressing urgent political and social issues and taboos.
Fabuch’s mission is to generate social impact and collective awareness on critical issues while enhancing the quality of life for disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals from diverse backgrounds by involving them in the filmmaking process alongside an award-winning European cast and professional crew.
Fabuch Social Cinema unites its talented professional cast and crew with these overlooked individuals—referred to as The Future Talents—to provide them with renewed purpose and a sense of belonging.
Under Fabuch Social Cinema, Fabian produced, wrote, and directed the short films Ella (2015) and Lady (2018). He also produced and directed two live marathon video performances, Els (168 hours) and Els - The Second Wave (100 hours), in which he portrayed a lonely, quarantined 59-year-old woman named Els continuously throughout the performances.
In 2021, he produced, wrote, and directed the critically acclaimed film Ada (2021), inspired by true stories from social sex workers, sexual assistants, and their clients. The film explores the sexuality of disadvantaged individuals and their need for support (Sexcare).
Alongside Ada, he launched a nationwide impact campaign featuring the online talk show Fabuch's Social Sex Show. This platform facilitates discussions with experts, clients, social sex workers, politicians, and healthcare organizations, leading to parliamentary questions and a commitment from the Dutch Minister of Healthcare.
Upcoming projects include directing the short film Rain Will Fall, which focuses on Alzheimer’s patients and their families, and his first feature film Maalkop, which addresses depression and suicide among farmers.
Fabian is a member of The Dutch Directors Guild and Atelier Néerlandais in Paris, France.
