Tony Craig is a versatile performer with a wide range of talents. An accomplished musician, he has performed live as a singer and drummer alongside Ben E. King, Etta James, Martha Reeves, Mary Wells, Sam and Dave, and The Mighty Sparrow, among others. As a songwriter and session musician, he has contributed to albums by artists such as Dominic Troiano, Eddie Schwartz, Carol Pope and Rough Trade, Dan Hill, and many more.
Originally from Trinidad, Craig is now a landed immigrant in Canada, having moved north to further his career. Joining a band gave him the opportunity to experience life in a new country. He humorously recalls that after years of singing the classic "White Christmas," he only truly understood its meaning upon moving to Canada’s cold, snowy climate. Although the novelty wore off, Tony has grown to enjoy the cold weather.
His transition into acting came after his Toronto recording studio was burglarized. To distract himself, his girlfriend worked as an extra on a movie set. Unexpectedly, Tony was offered a larger role in John Grin’s Christmas, starring opposite Robert Guillaume, Geoffrey Holder, and Roscoe Lee Brown, marking the start of his acting career.
Over the following decade, he guest-starred in numerous television series, including Forever Knight, Tekwar, Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, and Top Cops. On the big screen, he appeared in Disney’s The Ref and Soul Survivor. His most recent role is in the Showtime cable movie The Sweetest Gift, where he portrays a biker and romantic interest of Tisha Campbell, alongside Dian Carol and Helen Shaver.
