சுயசரிதை
Dr. Harcourt Fuller is a dynamic storyteller whose work bridges history and cinema across continents. A Fulbright Global Scholar with degrees from the City University of New York and the London School of Economics, he brings deep historical expertise to film, television, and music projects that amplify Black global narratives of resistance, perseverance, and cultural power.
As a historical consultant and commentator, Dr. Fuller has consulted on acclaimed international documentaries including The Eyes of Ghana (TIFF 2025, executive produced by President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama), Pirates: Behind the Legends (National Geographic/Hulu, 2024), and One Thousand Years of Slavery (Smithsonian Channel/Prime Video, 2022).
As a filmmaker, he has created original works adapted from his own scholarship and cultural productions. His credits include Queen Nanny: Legendary Maroon Chieftainess (2015), which premiered at the United Nations and streams on Prime; Black Women on Money: Tubman Twenty (2024), a short documentary he wrote, directed, and produced; and the in-development feature-length documentary Tubman Twenty, which explores African Americans on U.S. currency, Black women on money globally, and the campaign to place Harriet Tubman on the U.S. $20 bill.
Expanding beyond documentary, Dr. Fuller co-wrote and produced the song Nefertiti for the independent short film From Her, and created Mansa Musa, a music video tribute to the legendary 14th century emperor of Mali - considered the wealthiest person in history. He is developing multiple scripted features and limited series, including American African and Nana. His creative team includes award-winning producers and writers behind major film and television projects.
A numismatist (currency collector) and founder of the Black Money Exhibit, Dr. Fuller brings a unique perspective: many of the historical figures at the center of his films - Kwame Nkrumah, Queen Nanny of the Maroons, Yaa Asantewaa, and Harriet Tubman - have all appeared on national or global currencies. He also serves on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee of the US Mint, further underscoring his expertise in the cultural and political symbolism of money.
With his rare combination of scholarly authority, creative vision, and production experience, Dr. Fuller is redefining how Black history is told on screen - as a consultant, producer, and screenwriter.
Dr. Fuller lives in Atlanta, GA, and is a member of the Atlanta Film Society.
