Dan Willmott is a strong, solid, and comforting presence—an internationally award-winning actor, voice talent, and coach. He is the founder, inspiration, and class designer for VoiceSpot and Willmott Communication Services. For over 30 years, Dan has coached and taught broadcasters, actors, voice artists, and corporate leaders across Canada and the US to "Be Yourself, Be Real, Be Extraordinary."
Recently, Dan voiced commercials for The Real Canadian Superstore and Dairy Farmers of Canada. His other credits include Smuckers, Enercare, Subaru, Volkswagen, Fox, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles, Smarter than a 5th Grader, CMT, MTV, CTV, CBC, among many others.
In recent years, Dan has been active in film and television. In 2017, he played the recurring role of Buck Olander in FARGO Season 3. In 2018, he appeared as Jerry in Private Eyes and as Gary, Candace Cameron's dad, in A Shoe Addict’s Christmas. Additional TV and film credits include the DC Comics film Shazam, Netflix series Umbrella Academy, Impulse, Supernatural, Smallville, Murdoch Mysteries, General Hospital, Let It Snow, and he is also known as Mr. George in Mean Girls.
Dan returned to theatre in March 2017 with a critically acclaimed performance as Robert in "Proof" (Theatre UnBlocked), described as "heartbreaking" and "a truly masterful and nuanced performance." He received a DORA Award nomination for Best Ensemble Cast for his role as Bob Delacourt in the entertaining "Hogtown" in summer 2017. Upcoming in spring 2019, Dan will portray Ned in George F. Walker’s acclaimed play "And So It Goes," directed by Walker himself.
He is an active member of TAP (The Actors Place), TAPFest Film Festival, and VAP (Voice Actors Place). Dan won the Toronto Monologue Slam in July 2016. His voice demos are available on his website.
