The lyric baritone, born in Lower Austria, showed musical talent at a young age. Currently, he focuses primarily on opera, operetta, and song, though he is passionate about all music genres and open to new ideas. In recent years, he has performed on opera stages in various countries, taking roles such as Don Giovanni, Hamlet, Papageno, Conte Almaviva, Posa, Figaro, and Danilo. At eight years old, he began singing lessons with the Wiener Sängerknaben (Vienna Boys' Choir) and toured as their alto soloist across the USA, South America, Canada, Germany, England, and Sweden. He studied at the private University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna (MUK) and the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna (MDW), graduating with honors in 2007 with a Master of Arts degree. His instructors included notable figures like Eva Blahova, Barbara Bonney, Walter Berry, and Gundula Janowitz. Thomas Weinhappel received the Yehudi Menuhin music scholarship and won several international singing competitions. His rendition of Schubert's “Winter Journey” was featured in Michael Haneke's film “The Piano Teacher,” which won three Golden Palms at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. He has performed concerts at the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Carinthian Summer Music Festival, and in cities including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Tokyo, Australia, Venezuela, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Turkey, as well as in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (USA), and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa (Canada).
