Actor Rich Ting, born in Los Angeles, California, is a fourth-generation Asian American. An athlete in his youth, Ting played collegiate football at Yale University while earning his B.A. He later earned dual J.D./M.B.A. degrees before deciding to shift his career focus to pursue his passion for acting and the entertainment industry.
Ting has appeared in popular television series such as F.B.I., Magnum P.I., NCIS: Los Angeles, Supergirl, Waco, Rush Hour, and Chicago P.D. He spent several years between the U.S. and South Korea after landing lead roles in the Korean drama series Iris and feature films No Tears For the Dead alongside Jang Dong-gun, and Real with Kim Soo-hyun. His dedication and strong work ethic helped him secure roles in Hollywood films including Lone Survivor opposite Mark Wahlberg, Salt with Angelina Jolie, as well as the spaghetti Western No Name and Dynamite Davenport, where he starred as the lead character 'Dynamite Davenport'. Ting also performed stunts as a 1st degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do in G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, The Green Hornet, Gamer, and Crank 2: High Voltage.
He is widely recognized for his role as the iconic character 'Bolo' in the HBO Max drama series Warrior (2018), inspired by Bruce Lee’s work, and for his memorable performance as 'Captain Iijima', an ambitious detective in the Japanese Kempeitai, on Amazon Prime’s critically acclaimed The Man in the High Castle Season 4 (2019).
In 2022, Ting appeared on FX’s The Old Man opposite Jeff Bridges on Hulu, as well as Netflix’s Partner Track, portraying 'Carter Min', General Counsel of Min Enterprises. In 2023, he featured on Apple’s Hello Tomorrow as 'Hikaru Makoto', Disney Freeform’s AZNBBGRL as 'Cody Lim', and served as the Grand Marshal of the 2023 San Francisco Chinese New Year Parade and Festival.
In 2024, Ting starred in Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan's crime drama Tulsa King on Paramount+, alongside Sylvester Stallone, playing 'Jackie Ming', a quiet but ruthless Chinese Triad drug lord with ambitions in Tulsa’s marijuana industry. He also starred in SEGA’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, the ninth mainline installment in the Like a Dragon series and a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, as well as the spin-off Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. He portrayed 'Wong Tou', leader of the Ganzhe syndicate in Honolulu’s underworld—a gentlemanly yet ruthless gangster and powerful entrepreneur rivaling Dwight Mendez's Barracudas.
In 2025, Ting will appear in Amazon Prime’s new half-hour drama On Call, produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television. This series marks Wolf Entertainment’s first streaming project and its tenth current scripted series overall. Ting plays 'Sgt. Tyson Koyama', leader of the Long Beach P.D.’s drug enforcement team (DET).
Ting made his animation debut as the lead character 'Habu Joji' in Netflix’s Japanese animated feature The Summit of the Gods. His other voice-over credits on Netflix include the lead 'Masked Officer' in Squid Game; 'Gwank Shik' in When Life Gives You Tangerines; 'Wang Chil-seong' in Mr. Plankton; 'Tae-seok 6F' in The 8 Show; 'Kenta Sekiguchi' in We Couldn't Become Adults; 'Detective Ho-tae Kim' in The 8th Night; roles in All of Us Are Dead; 'Liu Bei' in the Chinese fantasy thriller Dynasty Warriors; 'Mu-Jin Choi' in My Name; 'Dae-seok Lee' in Crazy Love; 'Chief of Staff Seon-moo' in All of Us Are Dead; 'Cha Min-hoo' in Kiss Sixth Sense; 'Headmaster Brata' in the Thai drama Virgin; and lead roles in Disney productions streaming on Hulu, including 'Jeonchul Im' in Low Life and 'Kim Sang-hoon' in Light Shop.
Rich Ting currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and their two Maltese dogs, Somi and Nori. Besides his film and television career, he remains active in martial arts, enjoys traveling, and is a passionate foodie.
