Ekaterina Stoyanova was born in 1980 in Syktyvkar, Russia.
She completed her studies at the 153rd Profiled School "Neophyte Rilski" in Sofia, where she joined theater studios led by Elena Gorbatkova, sparking her passion for acting. Although eager to pursue theater, Stoyanova initially chose not to apply to the National Academy after high school. Instead, she studied languages, practiced dance, and spent time at the Puppet Theatre.
Eventually, she gained the confidence to take the Academy entrance exams, competing for spots in both drama and puppet theater acting programs. She was accepted into both but decided to enroll in the "Acting for the Theatre" class under Professor Dimitrina Gyurova, assisted by Lambrev, Nikolai Mikhailovsky, and Ivan Ouroumov.
During her first year, she began acting in the TV series "Sea Salt" (dir. Magardich Halvadzhyan, 2005) on NOVA TV, portraying Tanya, a soft-spoken girl alongside Asen Blatechki, Koyna Rousseva, and Penko Gospodinov. While studying at the National Academy, she also performed as Volkova in "Casting" by Al. Galin, Susie in "Suburb" by E. Bogosian, Polina in "Profitable Named" by Al. Ostrovsky, among other roles. She graduated in 2007, earning the National Academy "Theatre" award "NayNayNay" for Best Actress. After graduation, she joined the Bulgarian Army Theatre.
Her theatrical roles include Polina in "Running Strangers" by Al. Kazantsev, Giulianela in "Saturday, Sunday and Monday" by E. De Filippo, the brown secretary in "After the Rain" by S. Belbo, Margarita Montagues in "Much Ado About Nothing" and "Romeo and Juliet" by William Shakespeare, Rebecca in "Butterflies" by K. Donev, and others.
