சுயசரிதை
Anil Nagrath is an Indian mainstream cinema actor, born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. He debuted in the film industry in 1982. Initially, Mr. Nagrath began his career as a Management Trainee at Dalmia Dairy Industries Ltd, where he advanced to Branch Manager in Bombay. When the company acquired Golden Tobacco Ltd., he was appointed Regional Manager East, accumulating 10 years of senior corporate experience.
Following this, Mr. Nagrath entered the film industry, producing the film "Surkhiyaan," featuring Naseeruddin Shah, Suresh Oberoi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, and Moon Moon Sen. He then directed the feature film "Aaj Ki Taaqat," produced by Mr. Deepak Joshi. Leveraging his corporate and managerial expertise, he was first co-opted and later elected to the Executive Committee of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers' Association (IMPPA) and the Film Makers Combine (FMC). Due to his administrative skills, he was appointed Secretary in 1990, providing guidance, consultancy, and dispute resolution services. Under his tenure, FMC earned the nickname "the Supreme Court of the Film Industry" in newspapers.
After leaving IMPPA and FMC, when one FMC component resigned and separated from IMPPA, the Association of Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers (AMPTPP) appointed Mr. Nagrath as Director General. Over ten years, he transformed AMPTPP from a small office with two employees into a sixteen-employee organization with a 2,000 sq. ft. office and substantial fixed deposits, thanks to his efforts in advice, guidance, dispute redressal, and arbitration services. This significantly increased AMPTPP’s membership and revenue.
Following his tenure at AMPTPP, Mr. Nagrath founded Nagrath Consultants, a consultancy firm addressing clients’ legal, financial, and other needs. His success led IMPPA to re-engage his services as Secretary from 2006 to 2009, during which IMPPA saw a significant rise in income, credibility, and dispute resolution capabilities. He continued providing services through Nagrath Consultants and was again appointed IMPPA Secretary in 2015. Since then, he has managed IMPPA affairs personally from 2 to 4 p.m. daily, while focusing on Nagrath Consultants and continuing his acting career.
M/s Nagrath Consultants is led by Chairman Anil Nagrath, who combines extensive corporate experience with practical knowledge of the Film and TV industry. He currently serves as Secretary of the Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association’s website and regularly contributes articles on contemporary issues to Blockbuster magazine, alongside his acting work.
Mr. Anil Nagrath is also a Trustee of the Nagrath Charitable Trust, which runs Pushp Kunj Hospital in Indore. He holds life memberships in the Cine & TV Artiste Association, the Indian Film & Television Director Association, and the Old Dalians Association (ODA).
