Sebastian was raised in a creative family, naturally immersing himself in the worlds of art, film, and media. After years of acting, he pursued a career behind the camera, earning a bachelor's degree in Digital Cinema from UVU and working as a video editor, writer, director, and YouTube specialist.
He is also a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist for Shrink The Giant, an indie-alternative rock band formed with his siblings and other musicians.
Sebastian began acting at age 10, debuting as the solo lead in a PSA commercial promoting optimism, portraying the determined little hitter. This commercial aired on television, online, and at professional baseball games.
He again took center stage in an interactive website ad for OfficeMax called "stucktoapole," created during the era of viral internet sensations like "Elf Yourself."
He appeared as Cody, the comic relief little brother, in The Assignment (2010), directed by Timothy J. Nelson.
In Once Upon a Summer (2009), Sebastian played a mysterious ghost boy alongside his real sister, Stefania Barr, and Savanna Kylie Lewis.
He reprised a ghost boy role in Haunt (2013) as a red-headed poltergeist haunting his childhood bedroom. He enjoyed working with SFX makeup artists Sarah Rubano and Joe Dunckley, who shared their experiences from Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit as they transformed him into the bloody, necrotic phantom Matthew Morello.
One memorable early role was acting opposite Eric Roberts as father and son in The Wayshower, directed by Jsu Garcia. This experience working with seasoned professionals helped Sebastian elevate his acting and professionalism, and he developed a strong friendship with Roberts that resonated on screen.
He starred as Tommy in Fifty Cents (2008), a film set in the 1950s that explores the timeless question, "How do you get the girl?"
In T.C. Christensen’s Escape from Germany (2024), set in 1939 and based on true events, Sebastian plays an enthusiastic and talkative new missionary.
Sebastian has since written, filmed, and edited several of his own projects, worked to monetize creators on YouTube, and continues his career as an actor, filmmaker, and musician.
