Born in Africa to Portuguese parents.
With a passion for theatre ignited at age six, he sought to enrich Lusaka's emerging social scene by laying the foundation for the beauty and fashion industry and immersing himself in various arts—stage, television, radio, film, and journalism for newspapers, magazines (both national and international), and even authoring a book.
His work has been showcased in Zambia, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, Zimbabwe, Canada, and Botswana. After reaching a peak in his homeland, he left behind stability and moved to New York in January 2001 to study at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute.
Paul also holds an MA in Industrial Engineering. He has relentlessly pursued his dream of elevating Zambia’s entertainment industry. Throughout his career, Paul has held numerous full-time positions, steadily progressing up the corporate ladder while passionately striving to make a meaningful impact in entertainment.
Over time, Paul(o)’s striking physique has earned him recognition in roles such as Elephat (Aninanimals), the Wizard (Wizards and Warriors), Herr Schultz (Cabaret), Eugene (Grease), King Herod (JCS), Eddie & Dr. Scott (Rocky Horror Show), Tom/Phyllis/Leslie in A.R. Gurney's Sylvia, and performances in The British Council’s Three Sisters in Africa, adapted from Chekhov.
More recently, he has appeared in Paddy Chayefsky’s Marty, portrayed Lennie in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, played Jaycee in Echo and Narcissus at the Slam Festival, acted as Dean of Theology in August Strindberg’s A Dream Play at the Marilyn Monroe Theatre, starred in the original farce Fairy Tale at the Access Theatre, and participated in the 2002 New York Fringe Festival. Paul has also featured in several films, including the award-winning Red Cockroaches (2004) and shorts such as The Dry Cleaner, Capitalist Pig, From Here to There, Of Forgotten Memories, and Red Flower - Liluwa Lofwera. His latest screen role was as a Portuguese janitor in Sydney Pollack’s The Interpreter (2005), starring Nicole Kidman.
