At 22, Jeremy completed his second novel, Resurrection, marking a pivotal moment in his writing career. He realized these works carried a screenwriting style, and over the past decade, he has pursued his ambition to become a feature filmmaker.
During this period, Jeremy has written, directed, produced, and edited over eighty hours of network programming for national broadcasters such as the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CTV, PBS, CHUM, Global Television, Television New Zealand, Maori Television, Extreme Sports, and A-Channel. Regardless of the topic, Jeremy has traveled worldwide exploring the human experience.
A non-status Ojibway from Kenora, Ontario, Jeremy remains dedicated to the Native community by producing, writing, and directing both dramatic and documentary stories. He is also committed to nurturing and employing emerging Native talent in the industry while embracing the latest cinematographic technologies.
He serves as president of High Definition Pictures Inc., Chaotik Kreative Inc., and Digital Motion Pictures Co. Ltd., bringing together some of the most successful and creative professionals in the entertainment industry. His keen business sense regarding new technologies and financial models has been consistently recognized by industry leaders.
In pursuit of stories, Jeremy has traveled extensively, including to Iraq, Taiwan, Greece, Italy, France, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Chile, and nearly every part of North America.
In 2003, Jeremy co-produced his first dramatic film, Cowboys & Indians: The Killing of JJ Harper, which earned two international awards, two Blizzard Awards, and five Gemini nominations. He recently directed his debut feature film, Mr. Soul, which he wrote and adapted from the book Just Another Indian, also serving as editor and executive producer.
His upcoming feature project is Juliana and the Medicine Fish, based on the bestselling novel by Jake MacDonald, scheduled for production in September 2006 at Lake of the Woods, Ontario.
Additional development projects include The Splendid Life of Jesse Dixon, an original screenplay, and a project praised by distributor ThinkFilm as the next 'Scarface.' Other projects in progress are The Witch of Beacon Hill, The Revolutionary, Machine, Killing The Shamen, and Swipe, a co-production with Red Clay Films and Nomad Film Group.
Jeremy lives and works proudly in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
