Michelle Lang is an actress, producer, and writer best known for portraying Linda Lee, Bruce Lee's wife, in the 50-episode television series "The Legend of Bruce Lee." Holding a black belt in Wushu, Michelle traveled throughout China and the U.S. filming the series and trained with the stunt team, which led to her role as a stunt coordinator on shows like "Deadliest Warriors."
A graduate of Northwestern University’s acting program with a business concentration, Michelle is both a skilled actress and a savvy producer of several award-winning feature films. In 2013, she produced and starred in Lost on Purpose, written and directed by the Nelms Brothers, co-starring Jane Kaczmarek, C. Thomas Howell, and James Lafferty. The drama, centered on life in a small dairy farming community, won numerous awards across U.S. film festivals, including Best Film, Best Directors, and Best Actress for Kaczmarek. Following this success, Michelle took the lead role of Nastenka in Strangely in Love, which she also produced. Directed by Sundance Award-winning filmmaker Amin Matalqa, the film is a whimsical adaptation of Dostoevsky’s White Nights and features Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction) and Sean Carrigan (Young and Restless).
In 2015, Michelle had a supporting role in Waffle Street, reuniting with Lost on Purpose directors Eshom and Ian Nelms, as well as actors James Lafferty and Dale Dickey. The film, co-starring Danny Glover, is based on James Adams’ memoir about a former billionaire hedge fund manager who finds redemption working as a waffle house waiter. Waffle Street garnered several Best Feature awards at nationwide festivals and was highly rated on Netflix.
In the critically acclaimed Small Town Crime, Michelle served as both production supervisor and actress, playing Tina, the ex-girlfriend of John Hawkes’ character. The film also stars Anthony Anderson, Octavia Spencer, Robert Forster, Clifton Collins Jr., Michael Vartan, James Lafferty, Caity Lotz, and Dale Dickey. Small Town Crime premiered at the 2017 SXSW Film Festival and was featured on numerous "Must See" and "Best of" lists by the New York Times, Rolling Stone, Fandango, and IndieWire. It received praise from Variety, Ain't It Cool News, and The Hollywood Reporter, and was released by Saban Films in 2017.
Most recently, Michelle’s production company, RBL (pronounced "rebel") Studios, produced the independent TV series Everyone Is Doing Great. Created by James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti, the show also stars Alexandra Park (The Royals) and Cariba Heine (Home and Away). Michelle has a recurring role as Elizabeth Mitchel, a no-nonsense casting director. Season one entered post-production in early 2019.
RBL Studios is currently developing several projects, including an adaptation of the novel Saving Angelfish, a children’s film titled Goober Jump, and a chilling feature film called The Caul.
Michelle continues to study Chinese and martial arts and resides in Los Angeles with her husband and two children.
