Joseph David-Jones brings a creative, diverse, and inspiring work ethic to every character he embodies, demonstrating strength and versatility through his varied onscreen roles.
In 2017, Joseph appears in several highly-anticipated film and television projects. In film, he co-stars in Kathryn Bigelow’s 'Detroit' alongside John Boyega. The movie chronicles the historic Detroit riots over five summer days, highlighting the racism in urban Detroit that sparked one of the most destructive riots in U.S. history. The film is scheduled for release in summer 2017, marking the 50th anniversary of the events. On television, Joseph stars in CMT's "Nashville," alongside Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Maisy Stella, and Connie Britton. Premiering on January 5, 2017, he plays Clay, a creative, self-aware, and highly motivated emerging musician who brings a fresh style blending African-American, bluegrass, and classic country music influences, adding diversity to the series.
Following a successful 2016, Joseph’s credits include co-starring in Lionsgate's THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT with Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Miles Teller, and portraying the iconic superhero Connor Hawke in the CW series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow," alongside Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, and Caity Lotz.
Originally from Los Angeles, Joseph and his family moved east, eventually settling in Florence, Kentucky, near Cincinnati. There, he began modeling for local Kentucky brands. His agent encouraged him to participate in the International Models & Talent Association (IMTA) competition in New York City, where he discovered acting and won the "Actor of the Year" award. Attracting interest from multiple talent agencies, he returned to Los Angeles three days later to pursue acting. He secured guest roles on series including Amazon's "Hysteria," CBS' "Intelligence," and Fox's "America's Most Wanted: America Fights Back." His film work also includes independent features such as FALLBACK and 5th STREET.
Now based in Los Angeles, Joseph enjoys spending his free time engaged in musical pursuits, playing guitar and piano. He is also committed to philanthropy, supporting and donating to the Save the Children Foundation, which provides aid and essential resources to children in underserved communities.
