Victor Holstein was born on April 9, 1980, in Springfield, Illinois, USA. He is an actor and producer best known for his work in Chicago Med (2015), Man/Kind (2007), Brother Save Us, and This Is Where I'll Be. As the youngest of five siblings, including triplet sisters, he graduated from Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois, in 1998.
At age four, he first performed as a singing cowboy in his family's traveling musical evangelism act, The Holstein Herd. Initially, he believed he was meant to be a music minister in the Nazarene Church and attended two semesters of theology school before relocating to Chicago to study theater at Columbia College Chicago, where he earned a BA in Theater Arts in 2004. There, he studied under Sheldon Patinkin and his talented team.
After college, he moved to Los Angeles and worked as a set PA on the NBC series Las Vegas (2003). During this period, he appeared in various indie films, TV shows, and soap operas, including a recurring role as a cop on Days of Our Lives (1965). He also pursued further training at Second City Hollywood and Elizabeth Mestnik Studios, receiving on-camera coaching from Brad Greenquist.
In 2014, Victor returned to Chicago, where he portrayed Charles Lyon in the acclaimed immersive production "Southern Gothic" at Windy City Playhouse. He also appeared in the Timeline Theatre and Broadway in Chicago’s production of the Tony Award-winning play "Oslo" at the Broadway Playhouse. Since his return, he has collaborated with Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Drury Lane, Redmoon, Court, First Folio, and Silent Theatre Company.
His recent stage performances include playing the ghost of Elvis Presley in Terry Spencer Hesser’s "Christmas With Elvis" at the Chopin Theatre in Chicago’s Wicker Park, directed by Dexter Bullard, and participating in Rehana Lew Mirza’s world premiere play "Neighborhood Watch," produced by Jackalope Theatre Company at the Broadway Armory and directed by Kaiser Ahmed.
Victor holds supporting roles in the upcoming feature films Adventure Tom (2025), Tears to a Glass Eye (2025), and Brother Save Us.
