Daria Ellerman, C.C.E., is a picture editor with more than 25 years of experience in television series, MOWs, and feature films. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television Studies from The University of British Columbia and was among the first recipients of an apprenticeship award from the Canadian Academy of Film and Television.
Her recent work includes Netflix series such as "Virgin River," "Sweet Magnolias," and "Malibu Rescue," as well as ABC's "Take Two." She edited the features "Meditation Park," directed by Mina Shum, and "Birdwatcher," directed by Siobhan Devine. Daria has also edited hundreds of hours of television, including sitcoms like "Mr. Young," "Some Assembly Required," and "The Stanley Dynamic"; one-hour series including "ICE," "Cedar Cove," "Shattered," "Samurai Girl," "Jpod," "The Dead Zone," "Stargate," "The Outer Limits," "The Chris Isaak Show," "The Collector," and "Blood Ties"; and half-hour comedies such as "Exes and Ohs" and "Noah's Arc." Her MOW credits include "Harvest Love," "Britney Ever After," "Christmas on Chestnut Street," and "The Building."
Daria has been nominated for 10 Leo Awards, a DGC award, the Southampton International Film Festival, and a Gemini Award. She won Leo Awards in 2020 for her work on "Virgin River" and "Malibu Rescue," as well as in 2005 for the television series "The Collector."
She is a founding member of the Canadian Cinema Editors and has volunteered as a jury member for the Geminis and contributed to the Vancouver International Film Festival. Additionally, she served as a mentor editor for the Women in the Director Chair program at the Banff Centre in 2008 and 2009.
