Anant Mahadevan is a renowned actor, director, and writer in both the Marathi and Hindi film industries. He was born on August 28, 1950, in Thrissur, United State of Travancore and Cochin, India. Also known as Anant Narayan Mahadevan, he began his film career in 1984. As of 2021, he is 71 years old. Since the 1980s, he has been a significant figure in Indian television serials and Hindi films, and he is also active in professional English and Hindi theatre. His favorite actors are Guru Dutt and Stephen Lang.
In 2010, Anant Mahadevan and Sanjay Pawar received the National Award for Best Screenplay and Dialogues for the acclaimed Marathi film Mee Sindhutai Sapkal. The film also earned him a Special Jury Award at the National Film Awards the same year. His film Gour Hari Dastaan was featured in the Indian Panorama section at the International Film Festival of India (2014) in Goa, as well as at the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK 2014), the International Film Festival of Bangalore, and the International Film Festival of Chennai (2014).
