Marty Rhone, born Karel Lawrence van Rhoon in Soerabaja, East Java, Dutch East Indies, is a multi-award-winning actor and singer with a distinguished six-decade career spanning stage, television, and film. His theatre work includes performances in both London's West End and Australia, notably in The King and I (as LunTha) alongside Yul Brynner, Lou Diamond Phillips, Lisa McCune, and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. He earned a Helpmann Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the Kralahome in Opera Australia's production. Marty appeared in the original Sydney production of Godspell with John Waters and starred with Jackie Weaver in God Save the Queen. He composed the music for the Machiavellian farce La Mandragola, playing the medieval storyteller and remaining on stage throughout the performance. On television, he was a regular on No 96 and Class of 75, and more recently featured in American series Bull and Preacher, as well as Australian shows Harrow, Wentworth, Under the Milky Way, and Doctor Blake Murder Mysteries. He held lead roles in the internationally released films Rise and The Comet Kids. His diverse heritage—Australian, Asian, Dutch, and British—and his skill with various accents, including multiple US dialects, have made him sought after for roles portraying European, Asian, and American characters. Marty is also a highly regarded voice-over artist, working extensively in both Australia and the US. As a vocalist and recording artist, he has achieved five number-one hits, performing across the UK, Asia, and the US. His performances have included appearances for members of the British Royal Family, the late Princess Grace of Monaco, the late King Hussein of Jordan, and Queen Noor.
