Manish Chaubey is an Indian filmmaker, producer and entrepreneur. Originally from Uttarakhand and raised in Delhi, he developed an interest in performance and storytelling during his college years. A graduate of the University of Delhi, Chaubey served as president of his college theatre society and participated in several stage productions.
Before entering the film and entertainment industry, Manish worked as a software engineer. After several years in the information technology sector, he moved to Mumbai to pursue filmmaking and trained in filmmaking and direction. He began his film career working as an assistant director and later worked with the ABP Group. His experience in direction, camera work and reporting contributed to his interest in visual and character-driven storytelling.
He subsequently expanded his work into public relations and artist management within the Indian entertainment industry. Over the years, he has been professionally associated with publicity and artist management work involving actors and entertainment personalities, including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Anil Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Rajkummar Rao, Sonu Sood, Vidyut Jammwal, Sonam Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty, and others.
Manish's professional experience has also included publicity and promotional work connected with Hindi films such as Atrangi Re, Jersey, Raksha Bandhan, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Ek Villain Returns, Good Luck Jerry, Chup: Revenge of the Artist, and Shehzada.
In 2024, Chaubey co-founded Roohdaar Films & Entertainment with Reeshma Radhakrrishnan. The company works across film production, public relations, artist management and digital media. The name "Roohdaar" was inspired by the character portrayed by Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider (2014), reflecting Chaubey's interest in emotionally rooted and character-driven cinema.
He is associated with the Western India Film & TV Producers' Association (wifpa), the Indian Film & Television Directors' Association (iftda), and the Mumbai Indie Film Society.
As a filmmaker, Manish Chaubey's work focuses on socially rooted, character-driven stories. He directed the documentary "The Mother of Many Hands" (2025), which examines dignity of lab our and resilience through the life of a migrant domestic worker. The film reflects his interest in observational and socially conscious storytelling.
