జీవిత చరిత్ర
Tammy Thomas is an American actress, writer, and producer, born in Dallas, Texas, on July 7, 1974. Her passion for acting began at age five in her church's plays and blossomed from there. At eight, she was cast as Risky Rat—a role originally meant for a boy—in her elementary school's production of Kid's Sing Praises. She continued performing in various off-Broadway productions around the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including For Colored Girls... (Soul Rep Theater), The Search For Signs... (Theater Arlington), Death Express (Pegasus Theater), Black Butterfly in Chloroform (Teatro Dallas), and many more.
Throughout the 1990s, Tammy remained active on stage while developing an interest in film and television. While working as a tour guide at The Movie Studios of Las Colinas in Irving, Texas, she signed with an agent and landed her first TV role on Walker, Texas Ranger. This led to numerous roles in television and independent films such as Wishbone, America’s Dream, Kanaani, and the CBS hit series Prison Break.
In 2000, she graduated from The American Broadcasting School. Just two weeks before graduation, she was hired by Metro Traffic as a news and traffic anchor for several Dallas-Fort Worth stations, including K104, 105.7 KRNB, Soul 73 KKDA, 98.7 KLUV, and 1080 KRLD. In 2010, Tammy moved to Brooklyn, New York, continuing to act in theater and independent films. Two years later, she returned to Dallas, wrote her first independent film, Paradise House—also starring and co-executive producing it.
In 2017, Tammy took another bold step by relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, where she continues to write, produce, and star in independent films and television shows across various genres. She also maintains her career as a traffic anchor for iHeartMedia/Total Traffic Network. Additionally, she is the co-owner of EDEWEMESEY Films and can be heard weekday afternoons on KISS 104.1, Atlanta’s premier R&B station.
