Born in Istanbul in 1972 into a civil servant family, he enrolled at Marmara University Faculty of Communication. During his university years, his 32-minute short film "Dat Poenas Luidata Fides" received an honorable mention at the 7th Adana Golden Boll Student Films Competition.
His debut feature film, Sen Ne Dilersen, featuring Isik Yenersu, Zeynep Eronat, Isin Karaca, Fikret Kuakan, and Yildiz Kenter, earned the Promising New Script Writer award at the 17th Ankara International Film Festival.
The screenplay for "Merhamet" was supported by Turkey's Ministry of Culture and Tourism and was selected for the Balkan Fund. His 1994 play "Bak Kim Dansediyor," written by him, was directed by Sevim Gozay. Additionally, his self-written and directed play "Cin'Sel Problemler" was performed on various stages. He also contributed as a costume designer to Dervis Zaim's "Mud/Camu" and Handan Ipekci's "Big Man Little Love/Buyuk Adam, Kucuk Ask."
He taught screenplay courses for many years at Istanbul University Faculty of Communication, IFSAK, and the Digital Film Academy.
As script consultant for "Goodbye Katya," the film won three Golden Orange awards at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival—People's Jury, Best Film, Best Actress, and Best Music—as well as Best Screenplay at the Frankfurt Film Festival.
Operating under the name Dramatic Maneuvers, he continues to offer screenplay lessons, directing training, film reading workshops, and script consultancy. He lectures at academic institutions including Istanbul University and Galatasaray University. Since 2010, he has conducted Film Reading workshops that explore cinema's interdisciplinary connections and its relationship with other arts from a multidimensional perspective.
He still resides in his birth neighborhood, embracing the traditional culture of old Istanbul neighborhoods.
