Robert Florio – Editor, Producer, Director
With over thirty years of experience, Robert Florio has worked across Los Angeles, New York, and internationally in the television and motion picture industry as an editor, producer, and director. His portfolio includes some of the most critically acclaimed television movies, numerous award-winning TV shows, and feature films. His work reflects a deep understanding of storytelling and visual artistry.
Robert has received five Primetime Emmy nominations for editing, including the two-hour season finale of "LOST" in 2009 and the six-hour mini-series "The Starter Wife" in 2007. He has earned four ACE nominations, winning one ACE Award, and has been nominated for a People’s Choice Award and a Humanitas Prize. Additionally, he has been honored with two Special Recognition Awards from the Television Academy for supervising Emmy-winning sound mixes, a Golden Scissors Award, a Platinum AVA Award in 2007, and multiple Telly Awards—three for directing episodes of "NCIS: Los Angeles" in 2015, 2016, and 2017, and two for editing the series in 2018 and 2020. Robert has edited over 100 episodes and directed five episodes of "NCIS: Los Angeles."
His producing credits span Los Angeles, Hungary, Jamaica, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia. He produced and directed several episodes of the 44 one-hour installments of "Flipper: The New Adventures," which was filmed entirely in Australia. Robert has participated in all aspects of film production, including writing and crafting original scripts for both television and feature films. In the mid-2000s, he won first place in a professional writing competition for a reality show concept developed with a writing partner. Always eager to foster professional collaborations, Robert remains committed to contributing to high-quality film and television projects. He is a member of the Directors Guild of America, Producers Guild of America, American Cinema Editors, Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
