Lori Hammel is an award-winning, NYC-based actress working in film, television, voice-over and theater. She is a frequent SAG-AFTRA Foundation moderator, interviewing casting directors, indie filmmakers and industry leaders in seminars for members of the acting community.
TV Credits Include: Law & Order, Blue Bloods, FBI: Most Wanted, Jessica Jones, Zero Day, Black Rabbit, 30 Rock, The Other Two, Master of None, The Colbert Report, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and The Today Show.
Film Credits Include: Rob Peace, Spoiler Alert, Puzzle, Ethan and Joel Coen’s feature Burn After Reading, Blood Conscious, She’s Lost Control, James Ivory’s American Marriage and the title role in Coney Island Queen.
Broadway, Off-Broadway & Touring Includes: Mamma Mia, Unbroken Circle, Unraveled, I Love Lucy Live (Ethel Mertz), The Bardy Bunch (Carol Brady), and tons of Forbidden Broadway productions.
Awards: Best Actor New York International Fringe Festival, Jeff Award and two nominations, two After Dark Awards, and recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Joseph C. Riley Service Award.
Lori co-directed and wrote the short film "Resume of Regrets" produced by Thursday Shoots. The film transforms a routine job interview into an unexpectedly poignant reckoning with a woman’s unfinished ambitions. Blending authentic home-movie footage with live action, "Resume of Regrets" explores the pull of unrealized dreams and the quiet courage it takes to forgive yourself and begin again. It premiered at The Coney Island Film Festival in NYC. At the Big Apple Film Festival, Lori was nominated for a Women’s Filmmaker Award.
As a writer, she co-authored the critically acclaimed guidebook Minding the Edge: Strategies for a Fulfilling, Successful Career as an Actor (Waveland Press) and is a contributing author for Acting for the Stage (Focal Press).
Lori is a member of SAG-AFTRA and AEA.
