Sarp Akkaya, born on May 13, 1980, in Istanbul, Turkey, is a Turkish actor known for his work in film, television, and theatre. He began acting at the age of twelve alongside his twin brother, Kaya Akkaya. Their older sister, Esra Akkaya, is also an actress. In 2010, they opened the AKKAdemi theatre. Both Sarp and Kaya appeared together in the TV series "Bizim Aile" (1996) and "The Magnificent Century" (2011).
He is widely recognized for his roles as Sari Bilal in "Game of Silence" (2012), Tefo in "Ezel" (2009), and Atmaca in "The Magnificent Century" (2011). His notable works include "Game of Silence" (2012), "Coming Soon" (2014), and "Labyrinth" (2011). Sarp graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University with a degree in Theatre. He has a large angel tattoo on his back.
Sarp completed his studies at the State Conservatory Theater Department of Mimar Sinan University in 2001. He performed in plays such as "Later" and "Chaos" at the Studio Drama Theater, followed by "Devenin Horgucu Tragic" and "6th Gon" with the Alchera Theater Group. Alongside his school friend Onur Bayraktar, he founded the Studio Drama Theater Group.
His acting career began at age 12 with the film "Bizim Aile" (1996), directed by Kartal Tibet and featuring actors like Ergun Karkar, Jeyan Mahfi Tossum, and others. He gained recognition for his role in "Valley of the Wolves: Ambush" (2007).
In November 2007, Sarp was among the founders of "Tiyatradam," a collective formed by supervisors and conservatory graduates under Serdar Akar. In 2010, he established the AKKAdemi Theater with his wife, Esra Akkaya, and twin brother Kaya. In 2012, he starred in the leading role of "Game of Silence" alongside Murat Yildirim, Asli Enver, Berk Hakman, and Pelin Akil.
In 2015, Sarp appeared in the TV series "Racon," acting with Mehmet Aslantuğ, Hande Dogandemir, Sezin Akbasogullari, Baris Arduç, Seçkin Özdemir, Ekin Türkmen, and Tomris Incer. That same year, he featured in the film "Eksik," directed by Baris Atay, alongside Ugur Polat, Nur Sürer, Toprak Saglam, Özgür Emre Yildirim, and Sebnem Sönmez.
More recently, Sarp acted in the television series "Broken Pieces," which began airing in 2016, and appeared in the 2017 film "Filth.
