Santiago Díaz Oso is a producer, director, and narrative strategist with over two decades of experience developing and leading high-impact storytelling projects across Latin America and the United States.
His work sits at the intersection of culture, journalism, and long-form storytelling, with a focus on complex, real-world narratives that demand both editorial judgment and cinematic execution.
He has served as producer, executive producer, director, and writer on a wide range of projects, including the feature film Paraiso Travel (2007), the International Emmy-nominated miniseries Operation Checkmate (TVE, 2009), and the documentary Pablo Escobar: Countdown to Death (Netflix, 2017), which he directed, wrote, and produced.
Díaz Oso was also an executive producer of Drug Wars (Fusion/Univision, 2013-2018), a multi-season documentary series exploring the global impact of narcotrafficking, as well as Infiltrados (Univision, 2011) and Saint or Sinner: Pope Francis (Fusion, 2015).
His projects have been developed and produced in collaboration with major international platforms and partners including Netflix, Univision, Fusion TV, and The Mediapro Studio.
In addition to his work in film and television, he is the founder of Paraíso Pictures and The Hi Company, where he focuses on narrative architecture, strategic communications, and cultural positioning for complex and high-stakes environments.
