Angelina Strechina was born on February 20, 1996. Growing up in a family of choreographers, her childhood was deeply connected to the art of dance. She balanced participation in ballroom dance competitions with her studies at a ballet school, graduating with honors. Additionally, Angelina enjoyed drawing and playing the piano, leaving her with little free time. Even then, she developed a strong sense of discipline.
Although Angelina initially considered dedicating herself fully to dance, her parents encouraged her to pursue a different career. Consequently, she chose to become an actress. A classmate preparing to enter theater college gave her the contact information of a teacher, and soon Angelina was admitted to the Higher Theatre School Mikhail Semenovich Shchepkin, where she studied under Vladimir Beilis and Vitaly Ivanov.
At first, the rigorous schedule was challenging. Classes lasted up to 14 hours a day, leaving little time to see her family, and the emotional pressure was intense. While she had excelled in school, in drama school she had to fight for her place. Nonetheless, Strechina persevered and graduated successfully in 2017, by which time she had already taken part in several notable projects.
Angelina’s first role came in 2015 when she was cast in the TV series Salsa (2018). She played Asya, an aspiring dancer, which allowed her to use her dance skills on set. Her co-stars included Alyona Babenko and Pawel Delag. The series underwent a lengthy post-production process and was released three years later, in 2018.
Earlier, she appeared in the short film Mama vsegda ryadom (2016), a thriller directed by Evgeniy Puzyrevskiy. Alongside Angelina, the cast featured Aleksandra Kharitonova and Denis Shvedov. The film was well-received by critics, who praised its cinematography, editing, gripping plot, and outstanding performances.
In 2017, the series Balerina premiered, casting Angelina as Mira, a delicate dancer willing to do anything to earn the love of her cold and demanding mother, who pushes her into espionage and crime—an ideal role given her ballet background.
Her filmography expanded with In the Hood (2018), the directorial debut of Olya Zueva. Initially, Angelina was told she was too young and disorganized for the role, but after a lengthy discussion and a test scene, she was cast. She described her character Sonya as "a ray of light in a dark kingdom."
Angelina broke free from her ballerina image in the film Volshebnik (2019), playing nurse Masha. She shared in interviews how she admired the strength of women who managed to evacuate wounded soldiers during the war, noting her own difficulty in even moving a partner.
Another significant project was the horror film Queen of Spades: Through the Looking Glass (2019), which left her unable to sleep peacefully for several nights, though she found the experience fascinating.
A standout role for Angelina was Princess Tarakanova in the series Ekaterina. Impostors (2014), starring Marina Aleksandrova.
In the following years, Strechina appeared in multiple projects simultaneously. She was featured in the series Trigger (2018) as Katya, alongside Maksim Matveev, Svetlana Ivanova, and Igor Kostolevskiy.
She also took part in the melodrama Peace! Friendship! Chewing Gum! (2020), set in the 1990s. For Angelina, filming was intriguing as she barely experienced that era but had heard much about it from her parents. She portrayed Elsa, a bold and daring friend of the crime boss Alik, played by Yuri Borisov.
Other notable works include Guests (2019), The Blackout (2019), Lev Yashin. Vratar moey mechty (2019), Mister Knockout (2022), and Modnyy sindikat (2022).
