Connor Stacey Lord was born on December 6, 1998, in Burnley, Lancashire. From an early age, he displayed a keen interest in film and media, leading him to pursue a career in the creative industries. He successfully completed a Level 2 Apprenticeship with a local media production company before further developing his skills through a Foundation course in Film Production at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston. His dedication to learning and growth continued with a Level 3 Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media at The White Room Training Consultants in Manchester.
Connor is proficient in professional industry software for animation and filmmaking, demonstrating both technical expertise and adaptability. His creativity shines through his work designing logos, booklets, and artwork for animations used in primary schools, where his thoughtful approach has enhanced educational projects. He has also been actively involved in community creative initiatives, collaborating with organizations such as the Library Service, Calico Enterprise, and The Prince's Trust, embracing opportunities for artistic development and teamwork.
His passion for storytelling and filmmaking is evident in his diverse filmography. At just ten years old, he wrote, directed, and starred in Cold Case (2008), a 30-minute film following a man on the run as he tries to clear his name in a murder case. He later co-directed and animated Bobby Smith's Big Library Love (2012), a short animation created in collaboration with young people as part of Burnley Arts Development's Crib Creative Summer Programme.
Connor continued to explore deep emotional themes in his short films, including Isolation (2017), which delves into the struggles of a hard-living man confronting his imprisoned memories. He also showcased his skills in visual storytelling with Alone (Devil In My Veins) (2017), a collection of images reflecting the feeling of solitude, and Sadness (2017), a collaborative UCLan project exploring the nature of sorrow. His ability to convey personal narratives is evident in Sixty Seconds About Me (2017), a short autobiographical film highlighting his journey and editing style.
In 2021, he contributed as a co-editor to The Sitter, a comedy centered around an unsuspecting babysitter who gets tricked into believing a child has vanished.
