Anastasiya Voznesenskaya was a Russian actress known for her work in classic films and at the Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT).
Born Anastasiya Valentinovna Voznesenskaya on July 27, 1943, in the Soviet Union (now Russia), she studied acting at the Moscow Art Theatre's Acting School from 1961 to 1965, graduating as an actress. From 1965 to 1977, she was part of the Sovremennik Theatre troupe in Moscow, performing alongside actors such as Oleg Efremov, Evgeniy Evstigneev, Galina Volchek, Stanislav Lyubshin, Viktor Sergachyov, Alla Pokrovskaya, Oleg Tabakov, Oleg Dal, Igor Kvasha, and Valentin Gaft. In 1967, she gained widespread recognition for her leading role as Anya in the popular Soviet TV series "Mayor Vikhr."
In 1977, Voznesenskaya joined the Moscow Art Theatre (MKhAT) as a permanent troupe member. There, she worked with renowned Russian actors including Oleg Efremov, Evgeniy Evstigneev, Innokentiy Smoktunovskiy, Yekaterina Vasilyeva, Tatyana Doronina, Oleg Tabakov, Aleksandr Kalyagin, and Andrei Popov. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she delivered notable performances in Anton Chekhov's classic plays, portraying Barabanova in "Ivanov" and Masha in "The Seagull." She also received acclaim for her role as Maria in the popular play "Eldorado." Later, Voznesenskaya experienced a severe emotional breakdown, which led to a decline in her acting career.
After the troupe's division in 1987, she became a permanent member of the MKhAT named after Chekhov. She gave memorable performances, including the role of retired ballerina Roza Pesochinskaya in Aleksandr Galin's 2002 play "Retro."
Anastasiya Voznesenskaya was honored as People's Actress of Russia in 1986. She was married to actor Andrey Myagkov until his passing, and the couple resided in Moscow, Russia.
