Nicholas Barnard who currently resides in London, United Kingdom, is a South African Born producer, director, actor, and entertainment entrepreneur whose work spans film, television, theatre, and talent development across multiple countries.
As the founder of multiple former entertainment and production companies, Nicholas has developed and produced a range of film and television projects, including the award-winning short film *A Glass Half Full*, which received international recognition and secured U.S. television distribution. His work has seen him serve in various creative and production roles across feature films, television productions, documentaries, and short-form content.
Barnard has also contributed to several international productions, including working as 1st Assistant Director in feature films such as The Construct, Crazy Fun in Serbia, and Superkids. His directing and producing flare has seen him at the helm of multiple short films, some of which has gone on to win awards, as well as two major broadcast for TV television projects that he produced and directed. His passion for storytelling and emerging talent has established him as both a creative force and industry mentor.
Beyond production, Barnard is recognized for his entrepreneurial leadership within the performing arts sector. He served for eight years as Founder and CEO of the internationally accredited performing arts and film school - and one of South Africa's leading training institutions for aspiring performers and filmmakers.
Now based in the United Kingdom, Nicholas works full-time in the Creative PR industry whilst running his own performing arts schools for children on the side as co-owner and creative director, continuing his commitment to developing the next generation of creative talent. He also serves as one of the City Producer for both the Manchester and London editions of the 48 Hour Film Project, the world's largest timed filmmaking competition, which challenges filmmakers to write, shoot, and edit a short film within just 48 hours for their chance to be crowned best film in their city and to advance to Filmapalooza for a shot to be selected for the short film corner at Cannes Film Festival.
Through his work as a filmmaker, producer, educator, and creative entrepreneur, Nicholas continues to champion independent filmmaking, artistic excellence, and opportunities for emerging voices within the global entertainment industry.
