Paula Reca is an actress specializing in film, theatre, and television, raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with French Basque, Italian, and German heritage.
She earned her BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and received classical theatre training at RADA in London. Paula has been honored with both the ACE and HUGO Theatre Awards, Argentina's most prestigious theatre accolades.
In film, Paula starred in "Tampoco Tan Grandes," which she co-wrote and produced with her brother Maximo. The film won Best Feature at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival in 2018 and was showcased at the Shanghai International Film Festival, Malaga International Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival, Raindance International Film Festival, and Chicago Latin Film Festival. She also appeared in "Belgrano," directed by Academy Award winner Juan Campanella; "Veredas," by Fernando Cricenti, which received a special jury mention at Mar del Plata International Film Festival and screened at BAFICI 2017; and Gaspar Scheuer's "Delfin," produced by Tarea Fina and featured at Cannes Ecrans Junior 2019.
On stage, Paula starred in the first Spanish adaptation of ONCE in Buenos Aires, earning the HUGO Award for Best Leading Actress and a nomination for the ACE Award. She played Sophie in "Mamma Mia!" under the direction of Broadway's Associate Director Robert McQueen, winning the ACE Award for Outstanding Performance. Additionally, she portrayed Louisa in "The Sound of Music," directed by Jonathan Butterell (known for Broadway’s "The Light in the Piazza") with lighting designed by Tony Award winner Rick Fisher.
Her television leading roles include "Casi Angeles," "Aliados," "German, Ultimas Vinetas," and "Aliados Season 2," with both "Casi Angeles" and "Aliados" broadcast in over 20 countries worldwide.
Paula was also the face of two Argentine fashion campaigns: BOLIVIA in 2014 and AMORES TRASH COUTURE in 2015.
