Kazy Tauginas, a rising star, is a former restaurateur and Golden Gloves boxer who has transitioned into acting.
Raised near Chicago, Tauginas engaged in various sports, ultimately focusing on figure skating before discovering his natural talent for boxing after college. His agility on the ice translated well to the boxing ring, where he competed in 13 amateur fights.
After a stint in the restaurant industry, Tauginas pursued his passion for acting and writing, enrolling in the New York Film Academy and graduating from their Conservatory Acting for Film program.
He has appeared in numerous theater, film, and television projects. His TV credits include the upcoming "American Rust," as well as "Blue Bloods," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," "The Blacklist," "Blindspot," "Turn: Washington's Spies," and "Sneaky Pete."
His film appearances include "Dolemite is My Name," "The Equalizer 2," "John Wick," "Odd Man Rush," "Sollers Point," "Tom Clancy's Without Remorse," and the indie horror thriller "Shimmer."
Inspired by his mother’s lupus diagnosis and his boxing background, Tauginas wrote "Standing Eight," a short film about a boxer forced to retire and navigate life after a systemic lupus diagnosis. The film has screened at festivals worldwide, earned numerous awards, and is available on Amazon Prime and Vimeo OnDemand, with proceeds benefiting the Lupus Foundation of America. Building on the film’s success, Tauginas continues to advocate for the lupus community.
