Da Peng, born Dong Chengpeng, is a Chinese film director, actor, screenwriter, and producer. He rose to prominence with his directing debut Jian Bing Man (2015), which became a major commercial hit in China, earning 1.16 billion RMB ($160 million) at the box office. In 2023, his film Johnny Keep Walking grossed 1.29 billion RMB ($179 million) domestically, setting a new box office record for movies starring him. As a director, Da Peng's films have collectively grossed 3.25 billion RMB ($454 million). As an actor, the films featuring him have earned a total of 4.17 billion RMB ($583 million), with the combined box office of all his projects reaching 16.85 billion RMB ($2.36 billion).
Beyond commercial success, Da Peng has garnered critical acclaim at numerous film festivals. He has received 19 nominations and awards across six festivals in both directing and acting categories. Notably, his film A Final Reunion won Best Short Film at the 55th Taiwan Golden Horse Awards in 2018.
