Anabelle is an acclaimed actress, writer, director, singer, producer, and CEO of Blue Boots Entertainment, a film production company she runs in Los Angeles.
She attributes her strong theatrical roots and the richness of classic literature as her primary sources of inspiration. Her work and diverse career are deeply influenced by traditional storytelling from Japanese, German, Greek, and British cultures. Munro describes her creative process as a continual rediscovery and reinvention of historic narratives within her projects.
Anabelle’s artistic mission centers on purpose-driven filmmaking, focusing on themes such as addiction recovery, healing, and the search for purpose and spirituality. Her three-book series, "The Skeleton Key Series," shares her own profound journey of healing.
Munro’s directorial projects also explore deeply human experiences. The feature film "Ole King Cole," written by her longtime collaborator Del Weston, portrays three fractured individuals struggling to overcome their challenges. Another impactful work is the short film "The Weight of Perfection," which addresses eating disorders; Anabelle directed, co-wrote, and starred in it alongside Leanne Melissa Bishop, with performances by Hayden Hishaw, Wyatt Oleff, Merit Leighton, and Kelly Perine.
She has been involved in numerous award-winning films such as "Bullies" (2018 Comic-Con winner for Best Fantasy Film and Best Film), created by filmmaker and VR artist Daniel Bydlowski; "Bob Junior," by Student BAFTA and Student DGA awardee Dilek Ince; "The Boy Who Cried Fish!," written and directed by activist Daila Musaad and starring Jacob Hopkins and Breeda Wool; and "The Nerd Posse," which she co-directed with Suzette Troche-Stapp, featuring Merit Leighton and Benjamin Stockham. Additionally, "Gaijin: Fish Out of Water," written and directed by Anabelle and Huntly Munro, has earned numerous accolades, including Best Actress at Action on Film Fest 2016 and both Best Actress and the Louis Buñuel Award for Best Artistic Production at the Port Hueneme Film Festival 2017.
Her recent work includes starring in the compelling sci-fi feature "Tracing Force," directed and written by the renowned Elias Acosta, as well as directing the Vertical TV hit series "Atlante’s Mistaken Fiancée," which garnered over 1 million views during its launch week in 2024.
Committed to supporting the filmmaking community, Anabelle founded the ETHOS Film Awards and Institute and serves as Executive Director of the World Culture Film Festival.
