Born on August 25, 1981, in Matara, Sri Lanka, his creative inclinations were first nurtured during his formative years at St. Thomas' College. His official journey into Sri Lankan entertainment began in 1997 as an Assistant Director for Teleview and Lagena Media. During this foundational period, he contributed to notable teledramas such as Ek Murganganaviyak, Sisila Ima, and Nethranjali.
As his expertise expanded, Ranasinghe transitioned into high-level broadcast media, assuming the role of Senior Program Producer for esteemed networks including Swarnawahini, Heritage TV, and Siyatha TV.
