John A. Andrews is originally from the stunning islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean.
He is a prolific international bestselling author, known for works such as *Rude Buay ... The Unstoppable*, a gritty "drug prevention" action thriller that explores drug corruption, deception, and the epidemic sweeping through Jamaica and into America. This series has been dubbed by many as "A Black James Bond Series."
His other notable works include *The Whodunit Chronicles*, a mystery series featuring titles like *Who Shot the Sheriff?* and *A Snitch on Time*. Andrews is also recognized for his hard-boiled detective novels in *Renegade Cops*. His portfolio extends to books aimed at teens on success and various personal development topics.
As a child, Andrews dreamed of becoming a police officer but later pursued acting, studying at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City. He brought his acting talents to Hollywood in 1997 and further refined his skills at Van Mar Academy under Ivan Markota, a renowned star-maker. Andrews credits Markota not only for teaching acting but also for enlightening him about the Hollywood business.
John Andrews has appeared in numerous TV commercials for brands like Nike, AT&T, Hollywood Video, EMC Squared, Compaq Computers, and Nasdaq. His film credits include *John Q* and projects alongside Charlie Sheen and other prominent actors.
Considered a visionary by many, Andrews turned to writing after being denied the rights to remake a film he was passionate about in 2002. This rejection sparked his writing career. He is among the few authors skilled in adapting novels into screenplays and vice versa, a talent he takes pride in.
Mentored in filmmaking by top Hollywood producer Mark Burg, Andrews has witnessed many films come to the big screen, including *John Q* starring Denzel Washington and the *SAW* franchise. Reflecting on this mentorship, Andrews says, "Mark Burg always invited me to sets, whether film or TV, and I embraced those opportunities. He kept me informed and readily introduced me to his network. On set, I learned to view projects through a producer’s perspective. One key lesson from him was always coming in under budget."
John Andrews is a father to three teenage sons: Jonathan, Jefferri, and Jamison. Jonathan and Jefferri co-authored their first novel in 2013 and are currently working on a sequel, including *Who Shot the Sheriff? II*, slated for release in spring 2016. Andrews lives in New York and leads ALI Pictures LLC, a US-based film production company.
