Born in Iran and raised in Vienna, Austria, Alain Ali Washnevsky is an internationally active actor. After a successful career in real estate, he relocated to Los Angeles in 2011 to follow his lifelong passion for storytelling and acting.
In 2014, Alain was a finalist in the World Championship of Public Speaking. The next year, he featured in the Oscar-nominated short film Day One. From 2015 to 2019, he appeared widely in American television shows such as Homeland, Scandal, The Rookie, Lucifer, NCIS, Westworld, 13 Reasons Why, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Roseanne.
More recently, his career has grown internationally. He starred as a series regular in Netflix’s Alexander: The Making of a God and appeared in the Emmy Award-winning Apple TV series Tehran alongside Hugh Laurie. His film work includes The Accountant 2 with Ben Affleck, and he held significant recurring roles in The Morning Show with Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, The Terminal List: Dark Wolf featuring Chris Pratt and Taylor Kitsch, and The Agency starring Michael Fassbender.
A lifelong enthusiast of music and performance, Alain has also performed as an opera singer in productions like Don Giovanni, Cendrillon, and The Gondoliers.
He is fluent in German, English, and Farsi, conversational in French, and divides his time between Europe and the United States.
