Dajana Roncione is an Italian actress from Palermo.
She began her acting career at 18, performing in T.S. Eliot's play "Assassinio nella Cattedrale," directed by Pietro Carriglio, at Teatro Stabile Biondo.
She then moved to Rome to attend the National Academy of Dramatic Art "Silvio D'Amico," one of Italy's most prestigious acting schools, graduating in 2007. During her studies, she had the opportunity to work with renowned figures such as Luca Ronconi, Armando Pugliese, Giancarlo Sepe, Giorgio Albertazzi, Gabriele Lavia, Gabor Stefan, John Axelrod, Katia and Marielle Labèque, and the acclaimed Italian filmmaker Michele Placido, appearing as Isabella in "Il Grande Sogno."
Her film and television credits include "L'Ultimo Re" directed by Aurelio Grimaldi and "La Croce e La Stella" by Salvatore Lo Piano. On stage, she has performed in productions such as "Il Sogno del Principe di Salina, L'Ultimo Gattopardo" directed by Andrea Battistini and Luca Barbareschi; Tennessee Williams' "La Rosa Tatuata," directed by Francesco Tavassi; Molière's "Il Misantropo," directed by Paolo Zuccari; Neil LaBute's "Reason To Be Pretty," directed by Fabrizio Arcuri; Carlo Goldoni's "Il Vero Amico," directed by Lorenzo Lavia; Pirandello's "Tutto per Bene," directed by Gabriele Lavia; Peter Shaffer's "Amadeus," directed by John Axelrod; and "Otello," directed by Paolo Zuccari.
In 2013, she played one of the lead female roles in the "Una lama di luce" episode of the "Montalbano" series, directed by Alberto Sironi and written by Andrea Camilleri.
She also appeared in various Rai miniseries, including "Il Sogno del Maratoneta" directed by Leone Pompucci (2012); "Edda Ciano e il Comunista" by Graziano Diana (2011); "Il Nostro Amico Walter Chiari" by E. Monteleone (2011); "Ben Tornato Nero Wolfe" by Riccardo Donna (2012); "Il Segreto dell'Acqua" by Riccardo De Maria (2010); and the second season of "The Mafia Only Kills in Summer," directed by Luca Ribuoli.
In 2014, she collaborated with French video artist Natalie Joffre on a video project about Tina Modotti titled "At the Age of the Double," supported by the KML Foundation. More recently, she participated in a Tina Modotti documentary commissioned by Rai History and directed by Federico Cataldi, with whom she is currently working on a film project.
She reunited with Michele Placido for the second time in the Pirandello play "Sei Personaggi in Cerca d'Autore," playing the role of the stepdaughter.
Her recent works include "La Concessione del Telefono," written by Andrea Camilleri and directed by Roan Johnson (2020), in which she portrays Lillina; "Anima" by Paul Thomas Anderson (2019), where she is a co-star; "Giorgio Ambrosoli - Il Prezzo del Coraggio" by Alessandro Celli (2019), playing Anna Iori Ambrosoli; and "Io Sono Mia," directed by Riccardo Donna, in which she portrays the famous singer Loredana Bertè.
She was nominated as Best Up-and-Coming Actress with the "Efesto d'Oro" award at the Napoli Cultural Classic.
