Paul Raschid is a British screenwriter and director whose previous works have earned a BAFTA Scotland win, a BAFTA Cymru nomination, and numerous selections at prestigious film festivals worldwide.
In 2015, Paul's debut produced screenplay was the teen supernatural thriller 'Unhallowed Ground', which won awards at the London Independent Film Festival and the British Independent Film Festival. This success was followed by his directorial debut with the supernatural psychological horror film 'Winterstoke House'.
His second feature as writer-director, 'White Chamber', was filmed in just 12.5 days. Released in 2018, this sci-fi thriller/horror/drama screened at ten international film festivals, including Edinburgh, Sitges, Frightfest, Mumbai, BIFAN, and Brussels. Lead actress Shauna Macdonald earned the BAFTA Scotland Best Actress award for her powerful performance. From August 2019 to February 2021, the film was available for streaming on Netflix in the UK, USA, Canada, Israel, Australia, and New Zealand.
In 2019, Paul ventured into interactive film. His third directorial project, 'The Complex', a sci-fi interactive feature film and FMV video game, launched in 2020 across all major gaming platforms. Written by Lynn Renee Maxcy, it stars Michelle Mylett, Kate Dickie, and Al Weaver, and was produced by John Giwa-Amu and Jade Alexander.
In 2020, Paul wrote and directed 'Five Dates', a romantic comedy interactive feature film and FMV video game created entirely remotely during the UK's Covid-19 lockdown. The ensemble cast includes Mandip Gill (Doctor Who), Georgia Hirst (Vikings), and Marisa Abela (Industry). The film earned a BAFTA Cymru nomination in the Feature Film category.
In 2021, Paul wrote and directed 'The Gallery', a hostage-thriller interactive feature film and FMV video game featuring two narratives. Viewers choose between a female protagonist set in 1981 London or a male protagonist set in 2021 London. The cast is led by Anna Popplewell (Chronicles of Narnia) and George Blagden (Versailles), who alternate roles as protagonist and antagonist across the narratives. Released in 2022 on all major gaming platforms, it was an Official Selection at the Dinard Film Festival, showcased as a unique interactive cinema experience.
In 2022, Paul wrote and directed 'Ten Dates', the sequel to 'Five Dates', a romantic comedy interactive feature film and FMV video game starring Rosie Day (Outlander), Sagar Radia (Industry), and Meaghan Martin (Camp Rock). It was released on all major gaming platforms on Valentine's Day 2023.
In 2023 and 2024, Paul wrote and directed two additional interactive feature films and FMV video games. The first, 'Hello Stranger', is a psychological horror-thriller that combines deeper gameplay mechanics with cinematic storytelling. Its cast includes George Blagden, Danny Griffin (Fate: The Winx Saga), Laura Whitmore (Queenie), Kulvinder Ghir (Foundation), Yasmin Finney (Heartstopper), and Sir Derek Jacobi (Gladiator). The second, 'The Run', is a survival horror-thriller about a fitness influencer pursued by masked killers in the Italian mountains, featuring Roxanne McKee (Game of Thrones), George Blagden, Franco Nero (Django), and Dario Argento.
Both 'Hello Stranger' and 'The Run' are set for release in 2025, following selections at the Dinard Film Festival, Red Sea Film Festival, BIFFF, and Raindance Film Festival.
In 2026, Paul will return to traditional filmmaking with 'White Tide', a crime comedy-thriller and his first conventional feature film in eight years. The cast includes Dominic Sherwood (Shadowhunters), Riccardo Scamarcio (John Wick 2), Marco Palvetti (Gomorrah), and Nikesh Patel (Starstruck).
