Kern Konwiser, alongside his brother Kip, has spent decades delivering top-tier creative content across the entertainment industry. He has written, produced, and directed documentaries, feature films, and TV series in collaboration with notable figures such as Quincy Jones, Peter Guber, Magic Johnson, the Grateful Dead, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Ortega, and many others. Kern has also played a key role in elevating the profiles of leading sports and entertainment brands like Nike, Gatorade, Burton Snowboards, Blizzard Entertainment, Mandalay Sports Entertainment, and the Duke Ellington estate, among others.
Throughout his career, he has received numerous prestigious awards, including two Emmy Awards for Best Picture, the NAACP Image Award, the Humanitas Prize, and the Producer's Guild of America’s Producer of the Year Award. His work has won Best Picture, Audience Awards, or Grand Jury Prizes at major festivals such as AFI Fest, the New York Festival, Cinevegas Film Festival, Newport Beach Film Festival, Worldfest Houston, the Chinese American Film Festival, CINE Gold Eagle, and more.
His latest documentary series, Legendary Pictures’ "Make It Work" (Amazon), won the Napa Valley Film Festival Audience Award and was selected by the U.S. State Department’s Cultural Affairs Bureau for the American Film Showcase international outreach program.
