Annie Thurman had grown accustomed to the simple lifestyle Tennessee offered, but this young redhead with stars in her eyes and a passionate heart yearned for more. After performing in a school play, she decided to pursue acting further. At 13, she enrolled in classes and workshops, including those at The Actors School in Franklin, Tennessee. It was there she met her future manager and agent, who encouraged her to explore opportunities in Los Angeles.
At 14, Annie landed the role of Cora in the post-apocalyptic film "Falls the Shadow." Soon after, she was cast as the female Tribute from District 9 in "The Hunger Games," acting alongside Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. This role became a springboard for her part in the 2013 supernatural thriller "Dark Skies," where she starred as Shelly Jessop, the friend and confidant of Dakota Goyo’s character, alongside Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton. That December, Annie made her television debut as the lead, Sally Ryebeck, in Hallmark’s "The Santa Switch." She has also appeared in national commercials for Oscar Mayer as Teresa Mayer and Little Debbie.
After a Christmas break at home in Nashville in 2013, Annie returned to Los Angeles for the 2014 pilot season. Her dedication paid off when she secured the lead role of Sophie in the TNT pilot "Proof," starring Jennifer Beals as Dr. Kathryn Russo and Matthew Modine as eccentric billionaire Ivan Touring, with Kyra Sedgwick as executive producer. The pilot was soon ordered to series, set to debut in 2015.
In her free time, Annie enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing the ukulele and cello, and having fun during Tennessee summers while driving her Jeep. She loves horseback riding and is an animal advocate, sharing her home in Nashville with two dogs, three cats, and an overweight bunny. A down-to-earth girl from a small town, Annie is living her dream in the big city, grateful to be doing what she loves most—acting.
