Biyografi
Katia Greco, born in Messina and a graduate in Biological Sciences, moved to Rome in 2006 to continue her acting training, which she had started in her hometown, and to launch her career. She began with television and theater before moving into film. She studied under Francesca Viscardi, longtime personal assistant to Susan Batson, and made her TV debut in 2007 with the Rai movie "Noi Due," directed by Massimo Coglitore. She then appeared in "Il capo dei capi" (2007) by Enzo Monteleone and Alexis Sweet, "Ris 4" (2008) by Pier Belloni, "Crimini Bianchi" (2009), and "Distretto di Polizia 9" (2009) by Alberto Ferrari.
In 2012, she starred as Mery, the first girlfriend of the young commissioner, in the series "Il Giovane Montalbano," directed by Gianluca Tavarelli and featuring Michele Riondino. That same year, she received the "Oscar dei Giovani 2012" award from the European Center for the Performing Arts. Between 2012 and 2014, she furthered her training with Michael Margotta, an American teacher and Actor's Studio member in New York.
Her film debut came in 2013 with "The Elevator," Massimo Coglitore’s first film, starring Burt Young, Caroline Goodall, and James Parks. She then played the lead in "Back to Rome" (2013), directed by Christopher Herrmann, and appeared in "Bolgia Totale" (2014), Matteo Scifoni’s debut feature, alongside Domenico Diele, Giorgio Colangeli, and Gianmarco Tognazzi.
In 2015, she returned to television with the Rai series "Catturandi," directed by Fabrizio Costa, portraying Maria Catena. That year, she continued her studies with American teacher Danny Lemmo, also a member of the Actor's Studio in New York. Subsequent TV roles included appearances in "Don Matteo 10" (2016) and "Un passo dal Cielo 4" (2017). In 2016, she received a special best actress award at the 48th Fotogramma d’Oro.
In 2017, she starred as the lead in "Cruel Peter," an English-language horror film co-produced by Rai Cinema and directed by A. Malgarini and C. Bisceglia. She also received a special talent award at the Formia Film Festival and appeared in an episode of the Rai series "Il Cacciatore," directed by Davide Marengo and Stefano Lodovichi, alongside Francesco Montanari, Paolo Briguglia, and Edoardo Pesce.
In 2018, she filmed episodes for the dramas "L'Allieva 2" and "Che Dio Ci Aiuti 5." In 2019, she starred in the "Montalbano" episode "Salvo Amato, Livia Mia," and took part in the Rai TV movie about Rita Levi Montalcini, portrayed by Elena Sofia Ricci and directed by Alberto Negrin, scheduled for fall release. Currently, she can be seen in the film "Picciridda," based on Catena Fiorello’s novel and directed by Paolo Licata, and will soon appear in "L'île du pardon" alongside Claudia Cardinale, directed by Tunisian filmmaker Ridha Behi.
