After earning a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Journalism from Rider University and a Master's degree (Ed.M.) in Educational Media from Temple University, George joined the faculty at Salem University in Massachusetts and the University of Vermont (UVM), where he taught graduate-level courses.
George's career took a significant turn after a backstage meeting with Texas star Johnny Winter at a concert in Burlington, Vermont. Soon after, he was hired as the sound mixer for Johnny Winter's band, which eventually led to his role as road manager for Edgar Winter's White Trash.
With a solid foothold in the music industry, George became a talent manager for artists such as Aerosmith, Billy Squier, and Joel Zoss (songwriter for Bonnie Raitt). He produced music concerts and major events across New England, including the Vermont Ski Show, The Green Mountain Summer Music Series, and the Lake Placid Winter Olympics.
While producing concerts for Bob Marley and the Wailers, George formed a close friendship with Marley. Together, they worked to expand Bob's audience, as Marley believed his music's message was universally relevant despite traditionally appearing only on the R&B charts. As National Promotional Manager, George propelled Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved" to #8 on the Billboard Top Ten Pop charts.
During the filming of promotional materials at the World Pro Ski Tour in Mammoth Lakes, California, George met the head of a Hollywood production company and soon accepted an offer to establish and lead their New York City office. There, he produced TV pilots, specials, and music videos for networks and cable channels including NBC, USA Network, and MTV. George later founded his own production company, creating award-winning film and TV projects such as Men At Work - Live In San Francisco...Or Was It Berkeley (CBS) and The Doors: Dance On Fire (Uni/HBO). After a Motown Productions executive heard George speak at a Billboard Magazine Conference, he was commissioned to create a TV series for Motown featuring life stories of its biggest stars, resulting in the award-winning Motown on Showtime series.
Motown on Showtime showcased films about Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, and Four Tops, with hosts like James Earl Jones, Stevie Wonder, and Smokey Robinson. The flagship special, "Michael Jackson: The Legend Continues...," featured Elizabeth Taylor, Gene Kelly, Martin Scorsese, John Landis, Hermes Pan, Yoko Ono, and Julian Lennon. Executive Producers included Michael Jackson and Berry Gordy, with George Paige as producer (Showtime/CBS).
George has produced numerous prime-time network specials, TV movies, and feature films, including Abbott & Costello Meet Jerry Seinfeld (NBC), The Brady Bunch Reunion (CBS), 50 Years of Funny Females (ABC), Gilda Radner's Greatest Moments (ABC), Woody Harrelson and The Three Stooges 75th Anniversary (NBC), Martin Short hosting The Three Stooges Greatest Hits with Little Richard (ABC), The Making of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition with Brooke Burke, The Young Hollywood Awards, Movies - 'Twas The Night starring Bryan Cranston (Disney), A Karroll's Christmas starring Thomas Everett Scott (A&E), Pennsylvania Miners' Story (ABC), This Gun For Hire (USA/Universal), and feature films such as the Farrelly Brothers' The Three Stooges (Fox), Space Warriors starring Danny Glover, Dermot Mulroney, Josh Lucas, and Mira Sorvino (Walden Media), and The Independent starring Janeane Garofalo and Jerry Stiller.
His credits also include Disney Channel's seven-season reboot of the iconic The New Mickey Mouse Club, which launched the careers of Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling, Keri Russell, Christina Aguilera, and Tiffani Thiessen; the animated films The Nutty Professor starring Drake Bell and Jerry Lewis (Weinstein/TBS), and The Adventures of Brer Rabbit (Universal/PBS) featuring Nick Cannon, Wanda Sykes, Danny Glover, D.L. Hughley, and Wayne Brady. He has produced numerous special programs for the Disney Channel, including Mickey's 60th Birthday, the limited series Martin & Lewis: Their Golden Age Of Comedy with Martin Short, Chevy Chase, and Howie Mandel, Jerry Lewis: The Total Filmmaker with Dean Martin, Tony Curtis, John Landis, and Janet Leigh, and An Evening with Jerry Lewis (PBS).
In collaboration with Spyglass Media Group, George is developing a live-action feature film of the Jerry Lewis classic The Nutty Professor; the TV series Ophelia with ABC Signature, based on the book The Color of Beauty; serving as producer on the film/TV franchise Beastmaster, based on Andre Norton's book; and preparing pre-production on S.T.A.R.S.-VR, a Virtual Reality Experience produced with the United States Space Force Association (SFA). Additionally, in partnership with the SFA and the University of San Diego, he is developing Space Horizons, an educational initiative offering credit and certification to space professionals, as well as 100 Years of Spaceflight, commemorating the 2026 Centennial Anniversary of Robert H. Goddard's first liquid-fuel rocket launch, and the live-action dramatic TV series Delta 7.
