Louise Saint-Claire is an award-winning actress renowned for her outstanding performances in both dramatic and comedic roles. Highly versatile, she has worked across film, television, theatre, and voice-over projects. A graduate of UCT Drama School in 1981, her notable theatre roles include Titania in *A Midsummer Night’s Dream* for the State Theatre’s opening and Desdemona in *Othello* opposite Sir Robert Stephens at Maynardville, Cape Town. Other significant roles include Lois in *Shrivings* with Joe Stewardson, Mary in the original production of *Run for Your Wife* with Rex Garner, and *First Night*. She earned a Best Comedy Actress nomination for *Mums the Word* in 2005 and won a Naledi Award for Best Actress in 2006 for *From Door to Door*. In 2007, she appeared in Paul Slabolepszy’s *Under the Oaks*, Neil La Butte’s *Some Girls*, and the comedic *39 Steps*, receiving another Best Comedy nomination. In 2008, she starred in Paul Slabolepszy’s *For Your Ears Only*, which inspired a daily radio soap on SAfm. In 2009, she portrayed Maria, Dorothy, and Verrinder-Gedge in Peter Quilter’s *Glorious*, earned praise as Grace in Nicky Silver’s *Pterodactyls*, and played Veronique in Yasmina Reza’s *God of Carnage*. Her television credits include *Isidingo*, *Behind the Badge*, *Yizo Yizo*, *The Res*, *Generations*, and most recently Alison in the popular series *One Way*. Louise received critical acclaim for her film role in *Jerusalema*, with additional credits including *Swop*, *White Wedding*, and *D9*. Beyond acting, she is a skilled dialect coach, specializing in a variety of accents. Louise is also a talented voice-over artist, featured in numerous radio dramas, having read news for 5fm and Highveld, and is recognized as the voice behind the beloved character 'Thelma'.
