Biyografi
Osric Chau was born in Vancouver, Canada, to a father from Hong Kong and a mother from Malaysia. After years of martial arts training with hopes of pursuing a career in stunts, he landed his first leading role alongside the late David Carradine in Kung Fu Killer (2008), filmed in Hengdian, China.
The next year, Osric portrayed Nima, a Tibetan monk, in Roland Emmerich’s 2012 (2009), acting alongside John Cusack and Thandiwe Newton in a film that grossed over $760 million worldwide. This success led him back to China, where he appeared in the Chinese remake of What Women Want (2012) with Andy Lau and Gong Li, as well as The Man with the Iron Fists (2012), starring Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, and directed by RZA.
In 2011, Osric secured another leading role in Paramount’s Fun Size (2012), featuring Victoria Justice, Thomas Mann, and Jane Levy. The Halloween-themed comedy also included Chelsea Handler, Josh Pence, and Johnny Knoxville.
Starting in 2012, Osric joined Supernatural (2005) as Kevin Tran, a brilliant high school student turned prophet, a role he played across 16 episodes spanning seasons 7-9 and 11. This role increased his visibility and led to a rise in his acting opportunities.
Throughout his career, Osric has developed a strong passion for acting and filmmaking. While he continues to appreciate the art and dedication involved in stunt work, he prefers to perform as many of his own stunts as the production allows.
