My name is Richard Chattmon, and my story begins in the vibrant heart of New Orleans, Louisiana, where I was born 30 years ago. Growing up in a city overflowing with rhythm, soul, and stories, I learned early on that expression wasn't just encouraged-it was a way of life. The culture around me shaped everything I would later become: an actor, a storyteller, and ultimately, an artist dedicated to bringing characters to life.
I graduated from Eleanor McMain Secondary School in 2014, a place that became more than just where I studied. It was where I found my voice, my drive, and my purpose. Much of that discovery came under the guidance of Ms. Diana Bolyston, whose teachings in performance and self-discipline pushed me to look inward and bring authenticity to every role I touched. She was the first person who told me not just that I could act, but that I should.
At the same time, Mr. Clyde Lawrence nurtured another side of my artistic identity-my musicality. Under his instruction, I learned to understand rhythm, tone, and the emotional resonance behind every note. His lessons taught me that performance isn't about being seen; it's about making people feel something. That understanding has stayed with me throughout my career.
After graduating, I chased the path of performance wherever it led, and over time it led me into the world of television. I have been fortunate enough to work on multiple projects, including NCIS: New Orleans and Leverage: Redemption. Being part of these productions didn't just sharpen my craft-they taught me what it means to collaborate, to create something larger than myself, and to honor the legacy of New Orleans talent that came before me.
Every role I've taken has been a step forward, a chance to refine who I am as both a performer and a person. And though my journey is still unfolding, I carry with me the lessons of my hometown, my mentors, and the communities that lifted me up. My goal is simple: to keep telling stories that matter and to represent New Orleans with pride, passion, and authenticity.
My name is Richard Chattmon, and this is only the beginning of my story.
